Homeopathy, a holistic form of medicine that aims to treat the individual as a whole, has been gaining popularity for its gentle and effective approach to healing. It is based on the practice of Like-Cures-Like, where substances that cause symptoms in a healthy person can, when administered in highly diluted amounts, treat similar symptoms in a sick person.

Allergies are humans’ mortal enemies as they are the one thing that slays them every year, time after time and if you are unfortunate enough you may have them all year around from pets in your home, foods you may encounter or even the dust that accumulates throughout the week.
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to your surroundings, for example this Spring, then you have probably taken an antihistamine. I have found even myself guilty of this.
Anti-histamine's block the body's histamine receptors, preventing histamine (which is involved in allergic reactions) from binding to its receptors and causing symptoms like itching, sneezing, and swelling. Now this sounds great to an allopathic mind as you want to BLOCK and ultimately STOP the reaction immediately with little patience for what you are experiencing. While this alleviates symptoms, it does not address the underlying cause of why the body is producing excess histamine.
What you don’t know is by doing this you are only suppressing and bandaging the problem…. It is counterproductive to the body's natural healing process. A well-chosen homeopathic remedy will stimulate the body's own ability to heal itself.
Symptoms are an expression/ the language of the body's attempt to heal itself. By using a remedy that mimics the symptoms (that would be histamine), it will then, through the process of treating like-with-like, trigger the body's natural defences and promote true healing. For example, a homeopathic remedy might be selected to mimic the allergic response, thereby encouraging the body to resolve the underlying imbalance causing the allergy.
The purpose of using a homeopathic to deeply treat a patient's allergies or any ailment for that matter is to leave the patient's susceptibility to these invading agents a minimum or even non-existent. Relying simply on antihistamines might lead to dependency on the medication and potential side effects from long-term use. The goal homoeopathically is long-term health and resilience, aiming to reduce the susceptibility to allergies over time. This is achieved by addressing deeper issues within the body that contribute to the overproduction of histamine in response to allergens.
